including questions about academic-support features and AI-generated outputs.
AI-generated outputs (including grading, scores, rubrics, explanations, and narrative feedback) may
be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for certain contexts and are advisory only. You should not
rely on AI-generated outputs as the sole basis for any high-stakes academic decision (such as final
grades, promotion or retention decisions, transcript entries, or formal disciplinary actions).
Research and development. We may use your personal information for research and development
purposes, including to analyze and improve the Service and our business and to develop new
products and services. As part of these activities, we may create aggregated, de-identified and/or
anonymized data from personal information we collect. We make personal information into de-
identified or anonymized data by removing information that makes the data personally identifiable to
you. We may use this aggregated, de-identified or otherwise anonymized data and share it with third
parties for our lawful business purposes, including to analyze and improve the Service and promote
our business.
Service improvement and analytics. We may use your personal information to analyze your usage
of the Service, improve the Service, improve the rest of our business, help us understand user
activity on the Service, including which pages are most and least visited and how visitors move
around the Service, as well as user interactions with our emails, and to develop new products and
services.
Compliance and protection. We may use your personal information to:

comply with applicable privacy, education, and data-protection laws (for example, GDPR/UK
GDPR, FERPA when we act as a School official, COPPA, CCPA/CPRA, and similar laws),
lawful requests, and legal process, such as to respond to subpoenas, investigations or
requests from government authorities;support Schools’ rights and obligations under our
School agreements and Data Processing Addendum, including responding to requests from
Schools to access, correct, or delete Student data consistent with applicable education and
data-protection laws;

protect our, your or others’ rights, privacy, safety or property (including by making and
defending legal claims);
•
audit our internal processes for compliance with legal and contractual requirements or our
internal policies;

enforce the terms and conditions that govern the Service; and
•
prevent, identify, investigate and deter fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized, unethical or illegal
activity, including cyberattacks and identity theft.
Use of data for AI models and analytic. We may use de-identified or aggregated information about
how Students and other users interact with the Service (for example, question types, time spent
using features, and overall usage patterns) to improve the Service, develop new features, and
enhance our AI models.
We do not use identifiable Student work, Student Personal Information, or Educational Records to
train or fine-tune any foundation AI models, whether owned by us or by third-party AI providers. We
also do not permit third-party AI model providers to retain or train their general models on prompts or
outputs sent via our enterprise APIs. Any limited retention by an AI model provider is permitted solely
for short-term security, fraud, or abuse-monitoring purposes and in no event permits independent
model training, fine-tuning, or other secondary use. Third-party AI providers are strictly prohibited
